In a way big and in another way not so big changes in this pre release.

Firstly I upgraded the MySQL in LAMPP to 3.23.54a and fixed little bug in the security software (added a sleep in checkmysqlport).

And secondly I recompiled any package in LAMPP to work now also with GLIBC 2.1.3. All other LAMPP releases needed GLIBC 2.2.0 as minimum.

And finally: Added ncurses 5.8. For mysql monitor and for ncurses support in the commandline PHP.

[2002-11-12] LAMPP 0.9.6pre2

Absolutely the same like the 0.9.6pre1 release but with a development snapshot of PHP 4.3.0 (STABLE-200211101739).

PHP 4.2.3 has problems with several popular software packages like phpBB and Postnuke because of the bug in the file_exists() function. The development version fixes this bug and I hope it’s stable enough to do a good job! ;)

This is the inital Source Forge release of LAMPP. It was published firstly in July 2002 on our project web site (two month before we were started using Sourge Forge).
